Three Movies To Watch Right Away

Towelhead (2007) written and directed by Alan Ball

American Beauty according to an Arab American Girl set in 1990's Texas. Her neighbor, (Aaron Eckheart) is a Texan lunatic, her father a controlling and egregious bastard. Watch what happens when "daddy issues" and pubescence mix in the melting pot of Houston Texas.

SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK (2009) written and directed by Charlie Kaufman

Charlie Kaufman writes strange films (Adaptation, Being John Malchovich, Eternal Sunshine). This time he directed one. Overtly depressing and morose, the film is a look inside a lonely and slightly senile playwright's attempt at creating his perfect masterpiece. Will he destruct before it is complete or will the people around him die before the play begins?

Great line from the movie:

Caden Cotard: I will be dying and so will you, and so will everyone here. That's what I want to explore. We're all hurtling towards death, yet here we are for the moment, alive. Each of us knowing we're going to die, each of us secretly believing we won't

Grey Gardens (1975) Albert Maysles and David Maysles

Every family has crazy cousins, so did Jackie O. Grey Gardens is a documentary focusing on the relationship between those cousins. Mother and daughter fight about what could of been if one or the other hadn't had each other. However, as we see it's impossible to redirect the past.

Who else to re-create this cult classic:
